HER-2/neu 3+

Does anyone else have Stage Ic, ductal carcinoma in situ/invasive carcinoma in situ w/ER-/PR+ nodes and is HER-2/neu positive? I really need some answers to questions - I am being told "yes you will recur" "no you won't recur" .. My oncologists say "yes, recurrence is high with that" yet another oncologist has said "no, recurrence is not a given". I am on Femara as I cannot take Tamoxifen (due to a DVT) and warfarin. Any information is greatly appreciated. Thanks. Gaylene

Hi there,
I am stage 2a her2, 3+ and I have asked that question many times to many diff doctors. The best of my understanding is that her2+ increases your risk for recur but its not a certainty. There are many other factors such as er/pr, size of tumor, grade of tumor that factor in as well. I don't think any doctor can say for a must that you will have a recur or not have one. I think it should be treated very aggressively but thats just my opinion. I am 40 and was dxed 3 years ago and so far so good. Hope this helps!
