In August I celebrated my 4th year since my first diagnosis! I am so glad to have had another year to enjoy my life. (This year alone I celebrated the births of two baby grandchildren, one girl, one boy, now I have 8!!) I had a recurrence in Dec. 2001 but have been off treatment since april 2003 and am now NED with herceptin, Praise the Lord...

I have had pain in my back, but my bone scan came back last week clear!!! yoohoo...so you see not all our pains turn out to be recurrence, isn't that good to know??? Haven't a clue about my pain, maybe just old age.....

Sat. night I had an "episode" of some kind. 3 a.m. I was in such pain, down my left arm, my back, my chest, made me cough. I sat up and walked around, took ibuprofin, My jaw and teeth even ached! I seemed to have heartburn, I am taking fosamax for my bones and it sometimes causes heartburn I think. Finally about 2hours, it subsided and I was able to lie down and sleep. I feel okay today, Sunday. Still have heartburn a little.

I almost thought I was having a heart attack, but that could not have been. I just had a muga scan not long ago and my heart was still okay. If I was having a heart problem it would have shown up on that right? I know if I tell my doctor, "I had an episode a few days ago but I feel fine now" he wouldn't know what to say or what it was if it passed, right? I was concerned maybe it was my chest port gone haywire or something. But I feel okay now. I guess these strange pains just come and go. I think I just worry too much about any little peculiar thing. I hate that about myself!!!!

Well, now that I got that off my chest to you girls, I will let it rest! Thanks for being there always.

God bless you as you make decisions and fight the fight. Some of you are surely in the thick of it!! My heart goes out to all of you!! God will see you through so don't give up. A cure is out there and we will see it soon!!!! I am convinced of that!! We will help each other to survive until that awesome day!!! Take care now, Lola

Dear Lolam,
Go to the doctor! You may have had a mild heart attack and you don't know it. More people died from denial than die from disease. A simple blood test and you'll know for sure. wishing you well with NED,
Al

Make sure you're around for your grandchildren for a VERY long time and go see a cardiologist! While the MUGA is important it doesn't tell all. My wife had an allergic reaction to premeds very shortly after a MUGA and the cardiologist had her come in for a couple of quick tests.
