I am on Doxil for bone mets. I have been on it for almost 4 months. It seems to be effective for me. My markers went in half after the 2nd treatment. Of course there are side effects, however not as bad as Adriamycin. This is the same drug as Adria except it is given in a globule of fat, called a liposome. It is longer acting so you only have to get it once a month. And no hair loss....well it does thin, but I am not bald! The effects on the heart aren't as damaging as well. I wish her lots of luck!

My friend just started Doxil. She has mets to bones, liver and now to the pancreas. I am so scared for her. Our dr. tried to get her into study for Abraxane, but due to her liver enzymes being really out of whack, they wouldn't take her. She now started Doxil on Monday. The thing i'm upset about it that she was never on Navelbine. I don't understand why they didn't try this. She felt great the first night, then she's really tired. They also have to pack her hands and feet in ice to prevent blisters. I hope it is a good drug for all that need it.
