Stage II and III gals:

Do you find that your CA 27-29 varies within the normal range much from month to month? For example might it go from 16 to 24 and then back to 19 or a similar movement within the normal range. I worry whenever mine goes up even when there is no steady upward trend which I know is what the oncologist considers of significance.

Yes, and I worry too. Mine just started doing that

Mine bounces around a bit too. The oncologist said that what they look for is a trend, whether up or down, to indicate that the current treatment plan is working.

Mine is still a bit high, at 80, but it is steadily declining as my bone mets have gone NED, and my liver mets are coming under control.

Hi Barbara: Since DX my tumor markers have gradually risen. In the last year and a half it has gone from 18.9 to 27.3...still well within the "normal" range but worrisome, none-the-less. I had markers done every 3 months at first, then after my one year anniversary of being NED went to every 6 months. I am due to have them done in November so I will see what has happened since May. Sure do hope NED hasn't let me down. Take Care, Linda
