I just came from my CT & PET scans. At the end of the CT scan the tech came in & said they wanted one more photo, but when I asked why, she wouldn't say. SO, of course, I think they saw something. I've been on navelbine/herceptin since 1/04 for bone mets. Mostly have no side effects, no new symptoms. A couple of times during the last few months my liver enzymes have been elevated, but they were normal on the last test. My CA2729 was up 12pts to 72 last month, so am wondering what that means. I won't get results until Monday. Now it's wait & worry. Thanks for listening. Pam

Pam, the tumor markers bouncing around, or your liver enzymes going up or down, don't have to mean anything.

My onc said that they do that sometimes and they just look for a trend...overall down, treatment is working, or overall climbing steadily, time to find new treatment!

Those darn techs are annoying because they won't give you any information! I know maybe they can't, but still would be nice to hear SOMETHING. In my experience the fact that they won't say anything even if they need more scans doesn't mean anything.

I had something similar happen to me, and my bone mets had become NED, and the liver tumors were more than 50% gone. Yet the way the tech handled it had me all worried.

I know it's hard, but try to relax until you can hear from your onc.

Pam, Isn't there anyway to call your onc. and tell them, that you really need to know before the weekend? They surely understand what it is like to have to wait. It stinks when they don't tell you anything. I have heard about other people just being a nusciance(sp) until someone called down there and got the results. If you had it yesterday, the radiologist should have read them by now. Call they up and say I want a copy of my report, they have to give it to you. You might have to go into the hospital or wherever you had it done and sign a paper. But it's your right to have them. Good luck.,k

Pam, I agree with Kristen...call you doc. tomorrow and insist that he give you the results. Let him know that you don't want to spend the weekend worrying, especially if it's nothing. Plase keep us posted.

Absolutely call the doc tomorrow and ask for your results! I just had my cat and bone scan at 3 pm yesterday and I was on the phone at 8 when it opened this morning and they had the results right in front of them and read them to me! They will understand the stress you would have having to wait til Monday. Here is another good thought for you, when something is wrong here at my clinic, my onco calls you almost imediately. So here no news is good news! My thoughts and prayers are with you!!
