Schoolteacher and Terri,

Best wishes to you with your surgeries. I have been on both sides of the table, so mine was less intimidating to me. I met my surgeon for the first time the day beforehand, and he was wonderful -- very much into teaching and explaining anything I wanted to know (hope that rings a bell for you, Schoolteacher!) On the day of surgery I met the anesthesiologist, who wanted to put me entirely under, and my surgeon wandered by and stopped and said "no, she's going to be conscious for it", and I was delighted! My surgeon and I talked all through the surgery and he showed me the pieces as he removed them. The recovery wasn't painless, but I expected that. Please let us know how you are doing.

I know that SchoolTeacher pulled through her surgery with flying colors as she just happened to be in the same hospital I was. I managed to go visit her the evening after her surgery and she was all smiles.!
