Smile Another Fighter from Manitoba

Hello All!
My name is Michelle and I am a 39 yr. old mother of three who had a skin sparing mastectomy and reconstruction of my left breast on Oct 2nd/07. I received my path report last week and discover that further testing is required as I am HER2 + but not sure until the FISH test has been preformed. My surgical sites are healing v/ well and am very thankful to have had the Plastic surgeon that I did...He and his staff are wonderful.
From what I know of my Dx I was stage 2, with NO lymph nodes invaded.
tumor was 3.2 cm with satelite node .7 cm.
Nuclear grade 3 of 3
Histological grade 3 of 3
Histo type Ductal NOS
AJCC stage pT2 pNO pMx
I am ER/PR negative and HER2 +.

I am aware that I will need Herceptin. I have not gotten my consultation date w/ the Oncologist yet and will be having the MUGA this Monday.
I am wanting to talk with others who are ER/PR neg and HER2+ to know what to ask and expect.
Michelle

Hi Michelle. Let me welcome you to the forum.
As with everyone here, we are sorry we have to get to know you this way, but this is a great group of gals (and guys) and there is a lot of knowledge in this group.

I know you're concerned finding out that you're Her2+, but now that we have Herceptin, Tykerb, and some new options in the pipeline, things are looking better for us with every new day.
