Tribute to my friend Lyn

Hi all, I just wanted to post this here to let you know about the side of Lyn that I knew. We met at a party many years ago and just clicked and became friends. We shared a house together and our children became friends. She was known as "Little Lyn" - she was very petite, and I was known as "Big Lyn" - stand 5'9" in my bare feet. From the first time she was diagnosed I have been amazed at her strength and determination that she would beat it. Her bravery humbled me every time I would think about grumbling about a headache or some minor illness I was having. Through the years we kept in touch by phone every month and I would update her on me and she would update me on her. Our phone conversations would end the same with me saying "You are always in my thoughts" she would say "I know" then I would say "Bye" and she would say "Bye sweetie, love you dearly". I will miss her and those conversations. I attended her funeral yesterday, over 100 people there and messages from all over. I will end this note by saying "You are always in my thoughts, bye sweetie, love you dearly".

Your friend
BigLyn

My condolences to Lyn's family. Something a little irreverant about the pic makes me want to smile. Something I think Lyn planned. Wore my pink today! BB

I agree about finding this site and how easy it is to get attached to the members on here, even for us newbies. May Lyn rest in peace and know the wonderful beautiful legacy she has left behind.

Wink Midnight ramblings

Being on a 3-week vacation in Portugal - I was shocked (when I finally found computer access) at how quickly Lyn passed. I knew she was not in good shape when I left, but was hoping for some treatment possibility for her.
Lyn was a part of this board tapping out loud and clear messages when I joined in 2003. She took her disease seriously, but did not let it prevent her from living a full life and taking care of her family. This was the most frequent message from her own private soapbox down under.
Seemed when I would get around to checking the board here on Pacific time, she would have her posts from the night before. I would look for them as they would always contain a bit of her wry humor wrapped around her questions and frustrations with the medical care system.
About the photo. If you just look at Lyn's face and ignore the rest, you can see that she is a feisty soul. The background with the blood dripping skull almost makes it appear that death is stalking her and will eventually have it's way. In the meantime she was focusing on what to do about her disease progression and working at a reversal.
These latest mets seemed to sneak up on her and she wrote a lot about that as she was still looking for "a way out" while her disease was gaining ground.

Keeping her memory alive will not be hard for me as I feel we are kindred spirits in our determination to live in spite of this disease.
