Pittsburgh Today Show Live

Hello to All,

Just wanted to let you all know, If you happen to have access to the Pittsburgh Today Show Live. I will be on next Thursday July 30th at 9:00am. Locally this is Channel # 2 KDKA The show is promoting a Zumba/Susan G. Komen event that is taking place on Friday, July 31st at PNC Park, prior to the Pittsburgh Pirates baseball game. I will be doing Zumba with the creator (his name is BETO) and we will be talking about the benefits of exercise and Zumba for breast cancer survivors.

Friday the 31st I will do Zumba on stage before the game with 4 other breast cancer survivors. Looking forward to this event and supporting our cause ! Additionally a PR firm from Florida will be filming the event for a Pitch Reel for the Good Morning America show and the Oprah show. Who knows?....that may never end up coming to light, but it is still very exciting !!

Much Love !

Re: Pittsburgh Today Show Live

If the news station has a link to the story, I'd love to see it! I went to 2 Zumba classes today myself...before and after treatment! Lots of fun!

Question Re: Pittsburgh Today Show Live

Hi Susans and Colleen. Sounds like fun! I've never heard of Zumba before. It sounds commercialized, but I don't want to discount it as an alternative therapy just because the creator makes money off of it..... although if the creator was able to successfully put it together using just some music on the spur of the moment, does it really require putting the $ out to be able to do it?

One doesn't necessarily have to choose the most uncomfortable, boring, and annoying ways to get some exercise to get the benefits. I do like to dance, and have the privacy here to do it no matter how silly a 58-year-old with a floppy anatomy might look doing it in comparison to those selected to do it on a DVD. I couldn't have done anything that coordinated at the time I finished treatment, with all the unfamiliar weight I was carrying around and the weakened muscles, but I've worked my way out of that since then bit by bit. It has to be a little bit challenging physically if it actually has much benefit.

I'd like to see it if there is a news link to it, too.

A.A.
