Question Finding a Doctor

HI, to everyone. I live in northeast Oregon. I am wondering if anyone has a suggestion on a doctor that I could see. I am thinking of going to the Boise area. The doctors I have seen in Walla Walla Washington, suggest only arimidex as my only treatment. I am stage 1 node neg. I had bilateral mastectomy in late June of 2008. I am er+pr+Her2+++. They feel there is no reason to do chemo. and will not give me hercetin without. Thanks for your help.

BC in Oregon

Hi lizocean,
I live just outside of Eugene. I'm glad you asked this question. If your willing to travel to Boise, you might consider my doctors in Eugene...I don't know how far you are from here, but I've been having a very good experience with my surgeon, Dr. Robert Schauer at: http://www.nwsurgicalspecialists.com/
and my oncologist Dr. Peter Kovach: http://www.wvcancerinstitute.com/

They have been very proactive with my treatment and it's been very effective. I'm extremely confident in them. I also see a naturopathic doctor with specialties in supporting cancer patients. Her name's Dr. Tina Kaczor: http://www.clinicofnaturalmed.com/
I was stage III ER+/PR- HER2 +++. I was started with TCH which is chemo (taxotere and carboplatinum) with Herceptin. I finished that in a few months, but I'll get the Herceptin for a year. Personally I can't imagine not having Herceptin with a HER2 +++. I'm having surgery in a week and since the chemo/herceptin was so effective, I only need a lumpectomy and lymph biopsy, instead of the mastectomy they were expecting. I'll also have radiation and maybe hormone therapy depending on what's found in surgery and my risk of recurrance.
Feel free to message me for more info.
Each person's cancer and treatments are different, but I've had nothing but great experiences with these doctors and highly trust them.
If you come, I'd be happy to come meet you!
Celeste

Here is a link to a recent interview with prominent oncologist Martine Piccart, concerning tx of small Her2+ tumors. Note the distinction she makes between ER+ and ER- : http://www.breastcancerupdate.com/me...rt_gebhart.asp
