I can't really tell too much about what this specific trial is, but
this drug, pertuzumab, is being tested in several settings.

The concept is very exciting, basically it attempts to block several pathways (where Herceptin blocks only one, and Tykerb 2). I believe this is one of the drugs in my favorite study where they kept adding agents to block as many pathways as possible at the same, thus cutting off all avenues of growth - and the cancer died and did not come back.

This is one more step in finding a way to get a complete blockade, no escape routes for that cancer.
