Recurrence rates - Canadian study released

Hi all. Here's the link to the abstract but if you click on "full text", you can ask for patient access to it, for free. They'll send you the PDF. I haven't read the whole thing yet, but the graphs say it all quickly. Although in their 2 study groups (treated 2004-2008 vs. 1986-1992), there has been a reduction in recurrences overall -- it's most dramatic, by far, in the HER2+ subtypes (both ER negative and positive).

Comparison of Breast Cancer Recurrence and Outcome
Patterns Between Patients Treated From 1986 to 1992 and From 2004 to 2008

Re: Recurrence rates - Canadian study released

Debbie,

I received an error message. Could you post us another link?

The newest information is 6-10 years old. I supposed for 2008 and on for Primary with Herceptin, and the addition of Tykerb and Perjeta the reduction in recurrence is even greater.

Seven years ago it seemed like I searched and search and nothing was new with Her2 - now I need to work to keep up with the changes.

This link should work:

http://jco.ascopubs.org/content/earl...O.2014.57.2461

The patient access link is at the bottom of the page after you click full text or PDF.

Edited to add: If you don't already have an account with RightsLink, it's handy to have. I've gotten a lot of good articles that way at no and low cost.

Thanks for fixing my link, Rhondalea. I got sidetracked with Thanksgiving busy-ness.

Re: Recurrence rates - Canadian study released

We need one of those thumbs up buttons, but in lieu of that, you're welcome.

We do not do the turkey feast at my house, so I had plenty of online time yesterday to browse around fixing small glitches. I hope you had a wonderful day.
