Walter Reed/Windber Vaccine Trial -- Prior Herceptin Use Now OK

I just heard from the vaccine nurse at Walter Reed regarding eligibility for the E75 breast cancer vaccine trial. (Windber is doing the civilian side of this trial.) Woman who had been on Herceptin were previously excluded. I recently inquired to see if that has changed. It looks like it has; here is what she said:

It is okay if you have had Herceptin or are soon to finish. But if you are currently on Herceptin you need to wait until your treatment is complete.

I hope this may be of help to some of you who may be interested in investigating the trial further.

Stay well,

Cynthia

Dx 9/03; Her2+++, 4 nodes+; ER+/PR+; bilateral mast.; CAFx6; rads; ovaries removed; arimidex; completed the Walter Reed trial about a year ago; now receiving late Herceptin; remaining NED (she says with toes and fingers firmly crossed).
