Re: pain in shoulder blade when I breath deep

You're in my prayers. Are you going back to the University of Washington for the vaccine?

Re: pain in shoulder blade when I breath deep

Thanks for the prayers and for the good words.

Today I went to ikea to get the bedding and the pup's blanket. No name yet not have a pup home yet but sure will keep you updated. Even before it has come home I am truly excited by this, I think it will give more a lot of strengh and love.

Yes Ellie that is how I felt that I was a waste of time and efforts.. I wrote (unfortunately on the spur of the moment) to my breast nurse specialist to make a note that under no circumstances I was to be seen by him ever again and I even said that at the end he may as well have said why don't you throw yourself in front of a bus and save us all some time and efforts.. because this is how he made me feel..

Way to go Chrisy. I totally agree. We have to keep after those "medical professionals" and let them know we are not giving up without a tremendous battle and not without trying every possibility on earth !! Unfortunately some "medical professionals" let their own fears, personal problems and prejudices get in the way. They are human after all, but they need to learn to control those things when helping patients.
The pup is sooooooooooooo cute. I would love to give him a hug !!

Re: pain in shoulder blade when I breath deep

Hi FOB
Glad to hear you wrote to your bc nurse.I agree Drs are human but COMPASSION costs nothing! It is impossible for anyone who has not been affected by this disease to truly understand how important HOPE is. Onc's are often afraid of giving false hope but patients fighting for their life should NEVER be made to feel that it's a waste of time! It makes me so mad that you were upset in this way.Today I hear that the bean counters are at it again rationing cancer drugs!!

Re: pain in shoulder blade when I breath deep

Puppy therapy will work for sure. Vinoralbine might help as well. Hope you find a sensible onc to prescribe it for you. Some doctors like to be know -all sensationalisers I have found-so don't let him get you down.
Sending prayers.......
Trish

Re: pain in shoulder blade when I breath deep

Thank you all for the prayer..one week to go until my 5th October appointment..

Indeed as many of you have have suggested words can hurt. Truth is that anyone seeing someone fighting like I have to get treatments (many here will relate) is not a kind man to try to break that spirit.. especially when I am still around 5 years later after 6 tumours in the liver in 2006.. And it was about applying for a proper trial not some dubious treatment by a quack.. why the need to repeat 3 times that I will not be cured.. not need, I know what I am facing thank you very much.

He should only be restricted to the lab or early cancer patients. I do not believe that all is well with him.

On a nicer note the weather is very pleasant here and we are having a bit of an indian summer.

Ellie: yes bean counter.. the system needs to change, if it did not cost 1 billion to get drug to market it would not cost so much.. something needs to change or we will never get anywhere. Truth is I think that the American people should ask for a reform of the FDA which has more power than their elected president.
