Hi all,
I'm not exactly new--I've been signed up and reading for a while--but this is my first post. My sig (stolen from breastcancer.org, although I haven't posted there yet) contains the brief diagnosis, but I'll add the details and tell my story as soon as I get a few minutes to spare.
I just wanted to say "thank you!" for the information about the Coobie. Mine arrived the other day from Amazon (my favorite place to shop), and although I'm quite happy with my flat chest, the Coobie will make a real difference in the fit of some of my clothes when I want to be just a bit more formal. My decision for "no reconstruction/no prosthesis" is one with which I'm very satisfied (no more bra straps to plague me, not to mention bad fit, because I was the odd 38 almost B), but for some clothes, it's better to have at least small bumps to fit the darts.
I can't say I'm glad to have cancer (although it has certainly enhanced my outlook on life), but I'm glad to be here. Of all the forums I've looked at, I like this one best, because it has wonderful people and great information.

FYI, my Coobies (two of the three) have had the thread come out of the back seam, and I really just wear them now to work out or sleep. I still like them, but might try the Ahh Bra and the Genie (over time) to see what their quality is...
Has anyone here tried either of those?

Oct'08~ dropped Xeloda, switched to tri-weekly Herceptin in combo with Tykerb, extend to tri-monthly Zometa infusion
Dec'08~ Brain MRI- 4 spots reduced to punctate size, large spot shrunk by 3mm, CT of torso clear/pelvis spot stable
June'09~ new 3-4mm left cerrebellar spot zapped with IMRT targeted rads
Sept'09~ new 6mm & 1 cm spots in pituitary/optic chiasm area. Rx= 25 days of 3D conformal fractionated targeted IMRT to the tumors.
Oct'09~ 25 days of low dose 3D conformal fractionated targeted IMRT to the bone mets spot on rt. iliac crest that have been watching for 2 years. Added daily Aromasin back into treatment regimen.
Apr'10~ Brain MRI clear! But, see new small spot on adrenal gland. Change from Aromasin back to Tamoxifen.
June'10~ Tumor markers (CA15.3) dropped from 37 to 23 after one month on Tamoxifen. Continue to monitor adrenal gland spot. Remain on Tykerb/Herceptin/Tamoxifen.
Nov'10~ Radiate positive mediastinal node that was pressing on recurrent laryngeal nerve, causing paralyzed larynx and a funny voice.
Jan'11~ MRI shows possible activity or perhaps just scar tissue/necrotic increase on 3 previously treated brain spots and a pituitary spot. 5 days of IMRT on 4 spots.
Feb'11~ Enrolled in T-DM1 EAP in Denver, first treatment March 25, 2011.
Mar'11~ Finally started T-DM1 EAP in Denver at Rocky Mountain Cancer Center/Rose on Mar. 25... hallelujah.

Brenda, sorry to hear the Coobies are not holding up. Mine are good so far and I wear the same one or 2 alot. Maybe you should tell the company and see if the will replace them
I am always interested in comfort. Let me know if you check out the other brands.

I am uneven after reconstruction because I have no inframmary fold. You'd have to really look to see, but it does show in tight clothes. I'm interested in this bra to see if that will helps.
At this point, I'm in regular, non-wire bras, having had my surgery two years ago but it would be nice to be able to put something tight on and look even. Does the pocket fit a space at the bottom, which is where I need help? I also have the lack of pointiness that everybody does. Thanks ladies.

05/09/2013: Discussing SBRT with Radiology due to inability of bone marrow to recover from chemo.

07/03/2013: Chemo discontinued, on Perjeta, Herceptin and Zometa alone
07/25/2013: SBRT (gamma knife) begins
08/01/2013: SBRT completed

01/29/2014: Still NED. continuing with Perjeta, Herceptin. Zometa lowered to every 3 months instead of monthly.
11/08/2015: Progression throughout abdomen and lungs. Started TDM-1, aka Kadcyla. Other meds discontinued. Remission was nice while it lasted.
5/27/18: Stable. Kadcyla put me right back in the barn. I have two teeny spots on my lungs that are metabolically inactive, and liver is clean.
I’m beating this MFer. I was 51 when this started and had two kids, 22 and 12. Now I’m 60. My oldest got married and trying to start s family. My youngesg graduates from Caltech this June. My stepdaughter gave me grandkids. Life is fantastic.

Hi Ladies,
I am new to the Coobie Club, but am so impressed with them...I decided this thread needed to be bumped up for our sisters who are new to the world of post mx clothing.
I had the DIEP flap recon, so I've never been 'breastless'...but as Ann noted, there is a distinct lack of pointiness to my silhouette...except for my recon nipples, which are still a little too prominent. The Coobie helps with both issues!
I've tried at least 5 or 6 different bras from various department stores and all of them seem to either ride up, or flatten things out even more than they are already. Even the Ah Bra and the Genie Bra were disappointing. Then, I remembered this thread (the first time I saw it, I was pre-mx...so I didn't need it) and bought myself a Coobie. Well, since that first one washed and wore so nicely, I've now purchased several more.
Thanks for the heads-up!

Yep! Lots and lots of colors available.
Started with lavender...my new favorite color...when I was bald and had no eyebrows, someone told me it made me look less pale.
Just got bright aqua and orange yesterday! The camis didn't have a pad in them though...so I passed on them...
I think I feel a pastel phase coming on...maybe I'll go for pink next week.
