I am sorry to read of your progression, and of your mother's stroke. I am praying for you, thinking of you - you are an amazing warrior woman - Those pesky nodes had better watch out because the next treatment will knock'em flat.
Sheila when I first came to the board you were one of the first to welcome me and be supportive. I thank you for this.

Mild lymphedema diagnosed June 2009 - breast surgeon and lymph. therapist think it's completely reversible - hope so.

What frustrating news. If there's anything we can do, let us know. You're a pioneer...and it sounds like some of the women on this thread know of further options, potentially promising.
Still, wish you could have had a bigger/longer break.
Looking forward to seeing/eating/meeting with you again...! Hope you can take it easy and not fret too much.

I'm sorry to hear about your progression but I agree that you've gotten two years out of the Taxol, which is really good considering its side effects, and there will be another treatment for you. I hope you'll be able to get in to the T-DM1 trial.
You've shown tremendous strength and God will give you more.

Diagnosed stage 2b in July 2003 (2.3 cm, HER2+, ER-/PR-, 7+ nodes). Treated with mastectomy (with immediate DIEP flap reconstruction), AC + T/Herceptin (off label). Cancer advanced to lung in Jan. 2007 (1 cm nodule). Started Herceptin every 3 weeks. Lung wedge resection April 2007. Cancer recurred in lung April 2008. RFA of lung in August 2008. 2nd annual brain MRI in Oct. 2008 discovered 2.6 cm cystic tumor in left frontal lobe. Craniotomy Oct. 2008 (ER-/PR-/HER2-) followed by targeted radiation (IMRT). Coughing up blood Feb. 2009. Thoractomy July 2009 to cut out fungal ball of common soil fungus (aspergillus) that grew in the RFA cavity (most likely inhaled while gardening). No cancer, only fungus. Removal of tiny melanoma from upper left arm, plus sentinel lymph node biopsy in Feb. 2016. Guardant Health liquid biopsy in Feb. 2016 showed mutations in 4 subtypes of TP53. Repeat of Guardant Health biopsy in Jana. 2021 showed 3 TP53 mutations, BRCA1 mutation and CHEK2 mutation. Invitae genetic testing showed negative for all of these. Living with MBC since 2007. Stopped Herceptin Hylecta (injection) treatment in March 2020. Recent 2021 annual CT of chest, abdomen and pelvis and annual brain MRI showed NED. Praying for NED forever!!

Thank you all so much for your love and support....I know that the best knowledge is right here....you have been there. Of course I am nervous not knowing what the next course will be, but I am finding that each day without Taxol, the shortness of breath improves...and physically I am feeling better, even if those nodes are acting up...guess I was getting Toxic on Taxol....
I am enjoying this brief but needed chemo vacation, and thinking positive thoughts for the next regime....

Sheila, I am pleased that you are feeling stronger and know in my heart that this is what you need to begin the next treatment. Gather your strength Dearheart and keep those positive thoughts flowing. I am right with you for what you want and you so deserve and I am thinking that it is time to move on to the new regime for those nodes.
