Hi- I just wanted to tell everyone that my doctor has been treating a lady whose liver was almost completely diseased. She started on herceptin as soon as it came out and now, my doctor says that if you put her scan next to a healthy scan, you could not tell the difference! God Bless- Cathy

"doctor says that if you put her scan next to a healthy scan, you could not tell the difference!"

This is EXACTLY what my med onc says about my liver scans now (actually, has been saying that for a couple of years)! My liver was badly diseased, and I believe Herceptin is keeping my body healthy from my neck down.

The liver can and does regenerate itself even to the point of ridding itself of dead tumors and scar tissue. All my liver functions have been totally normal since remission was announced 3 years ago. I do not try to be '
"careful" with my liver by avoiding certain foods, except to eat mostly organic. I treat my liver just as I did prior to the metasteses and expect it to function normally.
