Kim,
Thanks for your reply. I think it is also safe to finish Herceptin prior to vaccine. The only disadvantage with this is that you have to stay in Winber for 2 full days after vaccine administration. I don't think that was the case for Seattle. I will keep you posted on what happens. Good luck.

Kim,

Is there a cost to this vaccine?

Thanks, Al

No cost

There is no cost that I know of other than travel. I live in DC but because I am not military, I have to travel to PA.

The big issue with this trial is that you can not take Herceptin at the same time. I wrote Dr. Peoples and he told me that herceptin works synergistically with the vaccine. When I spoke with him last, he had just filed with the FDA for Herceptin to be used with the vaccine. Right now, it's sitting on someones desk.

Hi everyone,

I also looked into the PA vaccine trial. Maureen, the vaccine nurse, said that she'll have an update in early December re: ability to enroll people who are still receiving Herceptin for early-stage bc.

I apologize but I do not. I think Michelle U did some research on that subject.
