After leaving my first onc (who was a nightmare for me) the new onc questioned
if I was Her2/nu 3+++ also. Had the FISH checked once again by the lab and
it came back her2/nu postive 3+++ with a 6MM tumor. Still the onc said no chemo, no herceptin...I am now on Arimidex will be reaching my first yr. out
3/29/06 since dx. Did have 26 x rad, plus 6 boosters. The first onc and the rad dr. said it was a go for me to take the Arimidex during the rad treatments.
I really hope that the three oncs I have seen are correct with my treatment.
I was pushing for chemo and herceptin. I have a cousin whose wife had chemo, rad, three years later she had bc in the other breast. The oncs I saw (I stayed with two of them) each are in different hospitals - I thought I would keep two seperate oncs to always check and compare treatments, both are postive that I should not have chemo or herceptin due to the risk it would create. They use statics which are great as long as you fit into those numbers.
They tell me I am in the 97% bracket and taking chemo or herceptin would
be the wrong treatment. I pray each day that they are correct.
