just curious

I have been lucky so far, just stage one with no other involvement. But I wondered for those of you with mets what the most common site of bone mets is? And also the most common site of other mets? I've written before about a high school girl at school they had me talk to whose mom had to have a masectomy. Hers was also in the lymph nodes and right now it's not showing up anywhere else but I was just wondering what it might affect first.

Not to say it can't show up in other places, but these are the most common areas for BC met's - lungs, liver, bones and brain. Looking back now, I experienced pain from the liver met's first, but the ER dismissed it (as did I). It was an intermitten thing. I then got a cough which was thought to be bronchial and was later treated as pnemonia. At that point, the docs were talking relapse and further testing was done to confirm met's in my lungs. The liver met's were confirmed by biopsy. hope my experience helps...

I have been stage 4 with liver mets since last February. I have never had any pain. It was discovered through a CT-scan, done because I was part of a clinical trial. It was confirmed through biopsy.

Good luck to you!
