Vitamin D, Multi-Vitamin.....Vitamin questions

Hi Everyone,

I as normal have questions about vitamins and this is what I have been taking;

2000 IU Vitamin D - Mine was 14 should be at 50, but I did the 12 wk pill first
1500 x 2 of Glucosomine a day
B12 x 1 a day - mine was down to 167 and range is to be 211 to 800 something
Multi-vitamin with iron x 3 a day
probiotic - x 1 a day

Each one I have a different brand, and I just do not know which brand I should take or does it make a difference???

And is there something else I should add????

I can go in the drug store and spend an hour trying to figure out what in the heck I should be getting. My multi-V with Iron is Advocare which is more expensive then the other types.

What are other people using brand wise?? Is it cheaper and better brand to order it online??

Would love the insight!!

Thank you!!!!

Look for the USP logo on the label:

Re: Vitamin D, Multi-Vitamin.....Vitamin questions

I saw an Internal Medicine doctor who specializes in Oncology when I finished treatment and I check in with her annually. She prescriped vitamin D, a probiotic, turkey tail mushroom, Protective Breast Formula and several others. I also take a couple of supplements my acupunture doc recommended. I'm not taking as many of the supplements as before, but have been juicing regularly. My goal is 5-7 serving of veggies and fruits daily, always something cruciferous and someof that is in the Protective Breast Formula. I recommend a professional opinion. Good luck!

Re: Vitamin D, Multi-Vitamin.....Vitamin questions

There is a prescription form of Vitamin D that is taken once a week. I think the strength is 50,000 units.

I think the Vitamin D level they aim for
in breast cancer is about 50ng/ml. Apparently low Vitamin D levels are associated with more severe disease.

Look for an oncology certified dietitian in your area. You can do this by going to www.oncologynutrition.org .
