Wondering if any of you are on Abraxane / Herceptin chemo? If so, could you please describe your situation and provide any other helpful feedback?

My bride-to-be is Stage IV, ER +, metastasis to lung, bones, and pleural lining. Her oncologist is checking to see if she's a candidate for Abraxane.

Any input would be very much appreciated.

My best to all of you

Not yet, but I am starting this Friday. Unless by some small miracle my scan that I had last Friday changes. Patty H

I am stage IV dx 12/02 and have had 2 dosaes of Abraxane. Last one was 7/20. I sucked on popcicles while getting my treatment (less than 30 min) then went home and drank water. The only thing I experienced was things smelled funny (cooked food) and I only wanted to eat pasta, lima beans and bread. Fresh fruit and vegies made me feel yucky. This lasted through Monday. I never experienced nausea but did start to take nausea pills on Friday so that I would'nt feel bad. No hand and foot thing, no terrible chemo mouth..in short...it wasn't too bad! I went through the Taxol regimine last summer. We have high hopes for Abraxane as I also have lung mets. I had a craniotomy 6/9 and gamma 7/14 and go for my followup mri 8/15. I am also slowly tapering my Decadron down which is an experience.
