Breast pain and Darvocet

Hi all you dear friends,
I got to my first year with herceptin and /navelbine but have had some breast pain in the breast with the cancer. I told my dr. and he irdered a rib cage x-ray but hasn't given me the results yet. He also ordered darvocet for pain, is this a safe drug? I have never taken it. Also has anyone ever had breast pain during treatment?
Thank you and have a nice day,
kathy

Kathy,
I took Darvocet after the birth of both of my children. It made me a little bit sleepy but then again I wasn't sleeping much and I was recovering from childbirth. I was breastfeeding at the time. I think it has been around for awhile. Sorry, I don't know about your question with the breast pain.

Good luck to you!

Beth

Hi Kathy! Darvocet is a derivative of methadone and is towards the lower end of the scale regarding narcotics. It does contain, acetaminophen(Tylenol) however. Overall, yes it's very safe, just be careful not to take more than prescribed if you have liver or kidney problems. Also, be aware of any other medications you may be taking containing ace./Ty. -cold medications, sinus meds., etc. And, if you take any antidepressants or sleep aids, discuss it with your doctor, otherwise, not to worry. Good luck to you, Bill
