Question Rash from Arimidex?

I was wondering if any of y'all have developed a rash from Arimedex. I know that a rash can be one of the side effects but I haven't found anything that says what kind of rash. I feel like one large rash. I have seen an infectious disease specialist because they think I am having a sort of shingles in the nerves of my right arm. Then on top of that I am rashy. It gets worse at night and I am taking Valtrex and now an antihistamine that barely touches it. My skin hurts as well as itches. I see a dermatologist tomorrow. I am beginning to feel like the elephant inAesop's fable about the Blind men and the elephant. No one is taking the whole problem into consideration. I hate going to specialists.

John Godfrey Saxe
One of the most famous versions of the 19th Century was the poem "The Blind Men and the Elephant" by John Godfrey Saxe (1816-1887).

The poem begins

It was six men of Indostan
To learning much inclined,
Who went to see the Elephant
(Though all of them were blind),
That each by observation
Might satisfy his mind[4]
They conclude that the elephant is like a wall, snake, spear, tree, fan, or rope, depending upon where they touch. They have a heated debate that does not come to physical violence. But in Saxe's version, the conflict is never resolved.

Moral:
So oft in theologic wars,
The disputants, I ween,
Rail on in utter ignorance
Of what each other mean,
And prate about an Elephant
Not one of them has seen![4]

HI Gypsy - I haven't got a rash from Arimidex but I'm itchy all over. I hope your dermatologist can help you. How long have you been on Arimidex?

The poem about the elephant is perfect - that's how I feel our understanding of BC is.........the scientists all see one little part, but they can't put all the pieces together - yet. But I really think the time is coming soon that the "elephant" will be understood and then conquered!

I have been on Arimidex for about 4 months and the itchinessand rash started about a month ago. It just keeps getting worse. I saw the dermatogist today and he does believe the itchiness and the rash are probably from the Arimidex. I am to try taking it in the morning and see if the time of my worst itchiness changes.

I have been threatening to take a copy of that poem to every specialist I see. They often just see the part of the problem that is their small area of expertise and cannot see the bigger picture. I hate having to see specialists because of that. Patience has never been my strongest personality trait. Yeasr ago someone told me that if you pray for patience you will be given trials and tribulations. I did not pray for patience.
