This is such good news that she is better and can
possibly continue with her treatment. I am thinking
of her and praying that she will jump another hurdle
and be much better soon.

Thumbs up

Jennifer, I am so happy to hear Joy is feeling better. Constipation is a horrible thing to deal with, she is tending to enough problems and it can be hard to focus with that added in the mix.

My husband is on the Ixempra and had his first infusion on Thursday. He does not need to take a stronger med for nausea and we are watching the blood counts. I just wanted to let her know that this is a good effective drug with a lighter degree of side effects. There are still side effects do not get me wrong, they just seem to give us more hope because it appears this med gives us more bang for the buck. Chemo is coming a long way and I am hoping that Joy and hubby have just as much luck having this work for them. Please let her know that I am sending double the love from Ed and me.>>Believe51

Jennifer, please let Joy know she is in my prayers and I am hoping to hear that she continues to feel better with each day. Joy is a shining bright star on these boards so tell her to get well quick because we miss her smiling happy face.

Jennifer,
I am happy to know that Joy'severe pain was just due to constipation. I know it can be very painful.
Please, let her know that I have been on Ixempra/Herceptin since October 2008, and that the 3 tumors in my lung are shrinking. If she has any questions tell her to feel free to PM me that I will be happy to help.
I just wrote a long message for Marie/ Believe about Ixempra and my side effects, please, have Joy read it. The thread is the most recent she wrote about Ed, I forgot the name.
Tell Joy to hang in there. Ixempra is a great drug, and I will pray it will work for her.
Hugs,
KarlaV.

By the way, my red and white blood counts are always normal, I only had to skip one treatment during all these months, and I did not need to take arasnep or neulasta.

I'm so glad to hear Joy is doing better. Last winter I spent a night in hospital, because I had excruciating abdominal pain. It turned out to be constipation as well. It really is the worst kind of pain and you just don't want to move at all. I'm glad that whatever they gave her helped. I've been taking psyllium ever since, because I don't want to feel like that ever again. In my case, the constipation was caused by allergies.

Love

Jacqueline

I used a tea called, Smooth Move when I was going through chemo and it worked really well. Sometimes I would add a couple of other, high fiber items to the mix, but the Smooth Move was good.

Jennifer,

I'm sorry to hear about Joy. I don't know particularly about Ixempra, but please let her know that I'm praying for good results and to calm her fears.

Glad to hear she is feeling better and that she had you to step in and make decisions for her. I remember feeling so bad at times that I just wanted someone to tell me what to do and not ask all the time...sherryg

Jennifer, just wanted you to know how we appreciate these updates on our, Joy. I am so happy to hear she feels a bit better. If you can let her know that my husband read her post and was well aware of what 'could' happen. He was proactive and was able to combat what would have become the same issue. He sends his thanks to her and wants her to know that he is sorry for the pain she had and for the help she gave to him with his first Ixempra infusion.>>Believe51
