Talking Radiation Complete!!!!!

I had my last radiation treatment today!!!! I'm so happy. The doctor said I was cooked just right--those are my words, not hers.

She said some times it's under done and some times it's over done, but mine was just right. The bad burn that looks purple is under my arm. She said it should start looking better in 10 to 14 days.

Another milestone completed to check off my list!

Vicky,

Glad to hear you have finished this part of the journey. Wishing you the best. I had some fatigue for about two months after I finished.

Its all good. Let the healing begin! It will take even less for the "purple" to go away. I burned bad and felt sooo much better in just a week. You will too. Congratulations.

Re: Radiation Complete!!!!!

Vicky,
I am thrilled to hear you have rads behind you now. Yeah! Now that you don't have to run out the door every day you won't know what to do with yourself. lol (Kidding of course.) It's nice that you were cooked "just right"...so much better then over done. Big congratulations--now plan a little fun time for you...I think you have earned it.

Do listen to the 'teacher' - there's going to be a period of time before you feel completely normal. Be prepared for the fatigues next couple of weeks (or months? Can't remember with my very damaged brain

Re: Radiation Complete!!!!!

Thank you all. I noticed fatigue starting about 2 weeks before I finished and it just went down hill from there. Even the doctor said I looked tired. I'm just so glad this part is done.

I keep telling myself that one day I won't be so tired........

Good deal! The healing will be faster than you think possible. May I suggest copious quantities of Silvadene Creeme? Worked great for me.

don't be surprised if it gets worse before it gets better, I seemed to cook for a few days after I finished!! But then it started healing (stay hydrated) and the fog lifted and I could move my arm again and not wince

Congrats on your finishing rads! I bet you won't miss going in there every day!
