Speaking of spring

Well over here in Hawaii, our weather is finally clearing after like 60 inches of rain in a 2 wk period of time. Our waterfalls were ferocious and springs were coming up in people's yards! Today: 80 degrees, blue skies, nice breezes, calm ocean and puffy white clouds in the most beautiful blue skies! There is a nice blanket of snow on our mountain from our storms and it looks like we are headed towards spring!!

I have been one of those lurking more than posting lately. My reasons vary. One day, it's because my hands hurt and I just can't type. The next day, I might be too depressed over having to deal with this stupid disease again (and again and again), and the next day, I'm in Manhattan at the making of a Panic at the Disco commercial for Walmart with my daughter...The one thing that keeps me going is my sense of humor. I remember way back (8 years ago), doing my brand of stand-up comedy for the nurses, doctors, family and friends. It may have been a little off color (offensive to some), but it was never meant that way. My humor was a way for me to deal with MY disease. I was the one hurting, and I just didn't have time/energy to think about every word that came out of my mouth and how it might offend someone else. I didn't know about the boards at the time, so all of my sick humor was delivered person to person with a smile or a wink. It was never taken the wrong way because the way it was delivered. Four years later after relapse, I discovered the boards (not this one). I sat back and watched many people get offended by other's words and realized it wasn't really the words that offended, but the lack of delivery. Words are just words without the smile, giggle or scowl behind them. It's very hard to differentiate the meaning of those words when they are just black, 12 pt, new times roman letters on a message board. The smile and twinkle in the eye just isn't there for someone to know the words were meant as a joke, a phrase or a simile. I have seen so many nasty fights happen (the other board) because someone jumps ugly on a misunderstood statement, and there is no one to monitor posts there. I LOVE this site because Joe and Christine DO monitor the site, people are respectful, smart and thoughtful. Believe me, the 2 or 3 threads that turned ugly that have happened this past year are NOTHING compared to what happens on other boards. I hope people remember why we are here. We ALL have bigger problems then this. Please move on, don't scare the newbies off and try to laugh things off....

Cool

I agree with you, Madam Dubois, good point and good post, thanks. Harrie!!!! What in the heck is the matter with you!!??? Can't you see all the misery I've caused myself by one off-handed, ill-conceived comment about spring being "right around the corner"? Good Lawd, young Lady, you don't want to bring that kind of grief onto yourself. I mean, Joe can get away with it because he's "The Man", but you or I can't. Please be careful. I've got snow-bound women from all around the globe gunnin' for me now. And some of them are mean, I mean real mean. Everytime there's a knock at the door now, I break out in a cold sweat "Oh, no, it's one of them. They've found me" Honey, you don't want to live like that. I suggest you make no more comments about how nice the weather is in Hawaii, we all already know, and go immediately to my apology thread and sign up. It's too late for me......I've gone too far, and said too much, but maybe you can save yourself..........

Corrections on weather

OOOOOOPS!!

Weather is not THAT great anymore!!! That only lasted a few hrs....now we are back to our normal....heavy voggy (like smog but caused by volcano) skies, no breeze, humid (really, really bad if you hair is just growing in and it is fine and curly....makes it really frizzy), pppprrreeeetttyyy miserable weather over here. Wish we had some beautiful white snow for a change!!!

cupcake

Hey Bill,

I'd like a cupcake too. Never mind on the lobsters, I would rather order one at a restaurant. But, I could send you the bill..Bill...get it?

If you offer more menu selections, please let me know.

Thanks, Catherine

Catherine, I am planning a long cruise this spring and summer on my yacht. Maybe I'll just have to swing 'round and bring you a cupcake. Take care, Bill
