Cloudy vision - terrified

Hi all,

I am really feeling terrified today since I have had couple of episodes of foggy vision. It lasts about 10 seconds and then things look normal again.

I have left a message with my Onc and obviously I will be rushing to her tomorrow...

I have also been told recently that I have H.pylori bacterial and eating a bundle of pills for it. This was diagnosed when I had a lot of abdominal pain. Now, I am really concerned about what else might be going on in my digestive system.

Praying hard that there is NO cancer any where inside of me.

Hi Shobha,

I know how terrifying foggy vision can be, but don't panic just yet. I have the same symptom and in my case it's caused by dry eyes. This could be caused by many things, including allergies. It's easily fixed with eyedrops. Oh and it could also be a side effect of the meds you are taking. You could check for that on the internet.

It's a good thing that H. pylori was diagnosed as this diagnosis is often missed. When treated properly it will be gone soon.

I was admitted to the hospital a couple of months ago for severe abdominal pain. It was so bad I couldn't get up from the floor in my bathroom. Turned out to be constipation caused by food intolerance. I was soooo scared. Sure I was dealing with cancer. But they scanned me, took X-rays, checked my blood, did an ultrasound, did a coloscopy and you know what: Nothing was found. There was no sign of any kind of cancer.

So call your onc tomorrow, but get some sleep tonight. No reason for panic.

Hugs

Jacqueline

Hi Shobha,
I just read your post and can "hear" your fear. I just wanted to tell you that I, too, pray there is no more cancer. I know there can be many, many reasons for symptoms we experience. Sadly, cancer is the first place our minds go too.

Please God calm Shobha's heart and give her peace as she waits. Let her be fine we ask.......Thank you.

Wink cloudy vision - terrified

I am sorry to hear you have been having vision problems. I hope it is something minor that can be resolved quickly.
If your onc. doesn't think he or she can deal with it ask for a referral to someone who can.
If you have an opthamologist and/or a PCP it might be a good idea to go see those people too.
Sometimes we get other health problems besides cancer. However, sometimes cancer treatment can cause problems even years after a person is finished with treatment. Taxanes can cause some vision problems---------one of which is sensitivity to light.
Good luck. Take care. Let us know how you are doing.

Hopefully your onc will advise you that it is from the treatment...and nothing else -

Did the blurry vision come on soon after treatment?
Does your vision remain blurry for days or come and go?

It could be the treatment, I had some blurry vision now and then during the treatment and it would go and come.

Best Wishes,
Jean

Thank you all for your kind words and invaluable input. I am feeling stronger and more optimistic reading all your comments.

I did see an Opthamologist about 3 weeks ago and he said my vision was fine, all I needed was reading glasses.

Jean, the blurry vision comes and goes. It did not come right after the treatment. It just started about two weeks ago. This weekend was most alarming since it seemed to be getting worse.

The good news is that I am having a Brain MRI today at 3:00 PM PST. This may be the only thing that will give me peace of mind.

You are all just the best, bravest people. I am so grateful I found this site!

love always,
shobha

Shobha,

Please post when you have your MRI results. I am guessing this is dry eyes secondary to all the meds you are taking for your digestive tract. May His peace surround you.

Shobha,
Glad that you have decided to have the brain MRI - it is good to have a base line. Very wise.

Shobha,
Thinking of you today and hoping your vision has cleared up. There are so many allergens in the air out here in CA. because of the warm weather. today it's raining but the trees all have spring buds, and everyone around me seems to be coughing, sneezing, blurred vision, etc. I pray your eyes are just reacting to the elements and will be ok.
As for your digestive tract, constipation can be such a horrific problem when on chemo. Please let us know how your exam goes and keep us posted.
Sending you lots of cyber hugs and prayers and love, Vickie

Glad to hear you are getting a scan just to be one the safe side, but I am sure it is probably dry eye or a side effect of chemo. I will be waiting to hear your results and praying for a simple answer.
