Re: Vitamins after bc?

I just saw your post. You probably already have the answer but here goes anyway. My doc - not the onc but a naturopath - said no copper. It can encourage bc. Hope that helps,

Wink Re: Vitamins after bc?

Harrie and I are the ones who live in Hawaii.
I take vitamin D, because even though I live in Hawaii and eat dairy products my vitamin D levels were low. The vitamin D supplements helped to raise my vitamin D levels. People in Hawaii have busy life styles. We don't have time to go to the beach everyday, so maybe we don't get enough sun, especially if we have jobs where we work inside and come home after the sun sets.

Re: Vitamins after bc?

Well at the risk of sounding like I know everything...my naturopath said 2000 IU or UI a day via pill form. If you take more you need to have a blood test periodically to check that you aren't getting too much. You can ask for a blood test to check your vitamin D levels before you begin, and during to see if you're at the right level.

Interestingly, women who have been dx with bc have been found to have low levels of vit D.

That's my 2 cents worth.
