Hi Angel -
I see a lot of folks down from Alaska at my clinic here in Seattle. There is a transplant section and I see whole families of native Americans and others with "Alaska" hats, shirts, etc.
The unwieldy name for this study is:
Blood Draw for Molecular Quantification of Breast Cancer Cells in the Peripheral Blood: Correlation with Clinical Stage at Presentation and Disease Course.
The head honcho on this is Daniel Sabath, MD, Professor Laboratory Medicine, UW School of Medicine. Other investigators include various oncologists, hematologists and the director of the DNA Probe Lab.
It seems this is a "one-center" study - perhaps because the Research Coordinator is the one who gets the blood and delivers the vials over to the UW (close to SCCA where I go.) Although, reading further, I see where the coordinator can "support the collection and shipment of blood from an outside clinic."
Also says that "these blood draws are not part of your clinical care and are not sent to your doctor."
If you need more on this - email me direcly, ok?
