My question is to those of you who have reached NED. Did you follow special diets or take supplements along with tradtional treatements (i.e. chemo, rads, surgery) that you felt were helpful?

Did any of you reach NED jsut going with traditional treatments alone?

I'm just curious as I plan my own healing strategy.

Thanks.

Yes, I did make some changes in my diet. And I am NED against the odds.

1. Cut the sugar every way possible.
2. Cut the caffeine.
3. Eat as much food that is grown organically as possible (lowers the toxic load on the body and immune system).
4. Get away from dairy products with bovine growth hormone. Do not eat hamberger as it is mostly ground dairy cow that has been shot with hormones. Eat Angus beef, grass fed.
5. Eat lots of fresh foods that have anticancer properties: shiitake mushrooms, almonds (almond butter), fresh broccoli and other cruciferous vegies, cabbage, blueberries - to name a few.
5. Doc wanted me on folic acid and B6. I also took milk thistle.
6. Drank detox tea nearly every day.
7. Drank lots of other organic herb teas.
8. Avoid fumes from cleaning products and traffic (as much as possible).
9. Ate one organic egg a day, fried and sprinkled with seaweed powder and sea salt.
10. Usually have some wine with dinner except when my mouth sores prevented. A softer white wine such as German or Vouvray was good if a hearty red was too much.

These were the main things off the top of my head. Hope this is of some value to you.
