Diagnosed with pre-invasive DCIS in 2002. Sentinel node negative. BRCA1+, so decided to have double mastectomy w/ saline implant reconstruction. Also had complete hysterectomy in 2003. Told I was 100% cured. In March 2004, had back pain. Diagnosed with lots of bone mets and then found 4 small tumors in brain. Had stereotactic surgery on head and all tumors gone and nothing new there. Yay! Treating bone mets with arimidex, and 6 months of navalbine & herceptin. Just about done with that. Then will take herceptin & zometa every 3 weeks for life. Feeling great, doing very well. Chemo wasn't too bad at all; kept working. Hope this inspires others. Stage IV people can survive!!!!
