Toxic Hair Dye

Hello Her2 Family,

In April I went to a beauty school in my neighborhood for a touch up-brown tones. Five days later I had a near Intensive Care situation, awoke to bowel leakage and spent 16 houors with brown water flushing out through my bowel. Serious cramping could not leave the bathroom for almost two days...vomited 4 times brown also. Pepto finally settled all down and was very weak for a week. Was the mixture old or wrong I will never get the truth but wanted to share to prevent anyone this experience. I had previous allergic reactions dyeing shortly after Radiation and completion on my protocol. Radiologist said not to dye and my not wanting to be all gray.........well we know we want to look like we once did. I was in and out of hospitals for over a month........Worse experience than any Chemo etc. Staying gray and glad to have survived. I like the new format and wish everyone the best. Take Care.

Tamara

Re: Toxic Hair Dye

What an awful experience.
Glad you have recovered, but not the kind of setback anyone would expect!

Chalk it up to the "live and learn" category.

Re: Toxic Hair Dye

That sounds awful Tamara but glad you're feeling better now.

I hated the grey and dyed my hair soon after rads, but thankfully did a skin test first and was fine.
