Tumor in chest wall

Hello ladie's, just wondering if any of you have had a tumor in the chest wall and what treatment that you were given for this.. I was diagnosed in september with tumor in chest wall and possibly lung, have been on abraxane and herceptin. Pet scan in october showed lung spot, i believed he said burnt off, and the one in chest wall stabilized, and no cancer anywhere else.. Just wondering if this is all that can be done for the spot on chest wall, i mean, what about radiation? This really scares me because i am afraid this will start spreading..was suppose to get mri of the brain but that was rescheduled for january and that make's me nervous because i was told the mri would be more clearer than the pet scan. I had brin met's in april and had to have surgery to remove the 2 in back and then went through wbr for met's in the front of my brain, i mean, the last mri i had of my brain was in august and it was clear but i still worry about it coming back and just want to have the right scan's done to catch it early if it come's back..still on abraxane and herceptin and will have another pet scan done in about4 week's.. Any comment would be appreciated and thank's for listening ladie's..

Re: Tumor in chest wall

I think a couple of our members took Halaven for skin mets in the chest and were successful in getting rid of or reducing skin mets. I wonder if it might work for chest wall mets too? You could ask your doctor about that.
Take good care of yourself.

Re: Tumor in chest wall

Hi Jeana, I was diagnosed with Her2 pos in July 2011 and had mets in lungs and lymph and 3 tumors in the breast. I had a tumor in the chest wall right next to the aorta. I was put on paclitaxel, herceptin and tykerb. As of Monday I am in remission. I am 50. I continued to exercise and take supplements to get oxygen into the cells. It took 4 months and it is gone.
