Had the Dilon test today....

Hi All,
Today instead of having an MRI I had the new BSGI test which is designed
by Dilon Technologies. I found the test easy and comfortable. Best of all
results are given in 5 min. after taking the test. Buy the time I got dressed the dr. had read the photo imaging and told me I was NED.....

The test is comfortable. Much like a digital mammogram, only the beast is only slightly compressed and is not painful, just enough compression to hold the breast in place. You are sitting while the test is being performed.
Each image take 5 min. and four photo images are taken for a total of 20 min. for the entire test. It took the tech longer to give me the radiotracer uptake injection, as my veins would not cooperate.

Test is far less exspensive than MRI...$1,975...the BSGI cost me $500
and is covered under insurance. I have linked additonal informaton for
everyone.

Jean,

I am glad the test went well for you - congratulations on the results!

I really like the fact that you see the doctor immediately after the test for the results. No waiting and wondering. I also like the fact that it is not strictly an imaging test, but studies the metabolism of the cells. Because of my breast density, I prefer not to trust imaging alone.
