Thumbs down Imaging; reading early preliminary results thru the tech's eyes

Juli
We are all so very anxious to get results, that we all look for an indication of reslts, even when we go as far as asking the technition for opinions after the scan. As a fellow patient I have been thru countless MRI'S & CT scans and admitt my guilt as well.
It's a futil effort most of the time; clearly because the tech's are not trained to specifcally read the scans, but rather to take them. With our sense of impatience we can learn to have patience to get the real SCAN RESULTSand an educated opinon from the Radiologist report and Conclsions, the most important part of the report. Always follow-up with your Ons to better review of the medical language and terms. Always ask ??????'s before leaving/
Warm hugs
Christine

Red face Going, Going, Gone.....

There is a good chance that you will get good results from this scan since taking chemo/ Herceptin Tx's. If it shows definite remission, it's on the way out.
Keep up the good work. Worrying never cured ANYONE

Talking

Dear Julie,

I can feel the excitement in your words. I remember what it felt like, when I rounded the corner and things started to look good for me. I have been stage IV almost five years now, and things are still looking good. Sure, I've had my ups and downs, but I'm still here. Who would have thunk it!

Love, Kim in CA

Hi Julie,

Great news on your NED! Usually your onc will continue all of your current chemos until you have some toxicity problems. The combination is obviously so effective the goal now is to keep hammering those microscopic cancer cells and keep them at bay as long as possible.

Good news!
Bill
