Question re: nipple removal after mastectomy

I had a double mastectomy 3 months ago, and retained my nipples, but now want to have them removed. I have some specific questions for anyone who might have had this unusual situation? I can't find any information about this because people tend to either do it at the time of mastectomy or not. Thanks in advance.

Re: Question re: nipple removal after mastectomy

I talked to my surgeon about having a prophylactic removal of the nipple areola complex on the opposite side of the mastectomy.

I got the run around about how rare it is to have a recurrence of Paget's on the opposite side. My NAC is still there, and I'm still concerned about symptoms in the breast. I asked my doctor to put in for an MRI.

Is it just precautionary, or do you have symptoms such as flaking, oozing, redness?
