Has anyone else had a positive uptake on their thyroid gland when getting a pet scan? I was surprised when they said my thyroid gland lit up! I know breast cancer doesn't usually spread there. They will probably send me for further testing now!!

Glad to see your back!!
Pet scans are a piece of cake. They give you the injection, which doesn't make you feel weird, then you wait 30 minutes, then your in the scanner for 30 minutes. It doesn't make any sounds like the mri.

Hi -
had 2 PET scans and never any uptake in thyroid. I also had a thyroid test not long ago and all was normal, even though I was tired for a long time. I know 2 long-term thyroid cancer survivors - about 20 years for each. It is not as bad as what we have!
Keep is posted on what they decide is going on with your thyroid. Best wishes.
