Question Herceptin and thyroxine- anyone else take both?

I had weekly Herceptin whilst on Taxotere chemotherapy to end of 2005 then three weekly herceptin until August when it was found that my heart had been affected, so until January 2007 I was off the herceptin now after two doses (three weekly)of herceptin I am finding that I am getting increasingly tired.

It suddenly struck me, some other drugs sometimes have to have dosage reductions when it is known that I take thyroxine, so has any tests been done on the taking of thyroxine with herceptin?
Please anyone got any input?

Red face thyroxine too

Aury, I also take Thyroxine and did all the way through my chemo and the year I was on herceptin (completed 10-06). My oncologist did labs each time I received chemo, and a check of my thyroid was always included. It is a simple blood test which should be included with your other labs. The herceptin did not affect my dose of thyroxine. But I do wonder about an iodine - breast cancer correlation!

I did gain some weight on herceptin ....I think most people do, even with dieting and exercise. I am now shedding the weight because the only drug I take is thyroxine! Good luck....talk to your doc.

just started thyroxine

I was Stage 1 and did not have chemo. At first the oncologist said I could have herceptin, but later changed his mind. So, I have not taken both, but I wanted to share this. I was approaching my 1 year mark and feeling tired, just not right. Of course, I immediately wondered what was wrong. After some tests, the doctor checked my thyroid and it was barely functioning. I wondered if these two conditions were related, but I couldn't find anything that indicates this. Susan
