UK and Herceptin

Thanks for posting this - but the fight for many of us still continues - on the same day as this, My Oncologists request for "exceptional funding" for me and similar requests made on behalf of 8 other local women was turned down as "we don't have exceptional clinical circumstances" - still haven't got a copy of the rejection details in writing so it is had to plan the next step, I am curious in the extreme to what the committee who made the descision would consider to be exceptional circumstances - my own 2 grade 3 (4.5cm and 2.5cm) cancers, 9/15 positive nodes, vascular invasion obviously isn't, so I continue to fund the remainder of the year my self. I'm in a better position than most having got some insurance funding to cover the cost of a fair proportion of the year. We have however still got a not insignificant amount of money to find to do this.
