Hi Marejo, just wanted to let you know that I have been having symptoms very similar to your for at least six weeks ... some days better than others but symptoms never quite go away. Sinus issues can be chronic. Anyway, today I had my brain MRI to rule out mets ... it came back clean. Nothing there. Our symptoms are quite similar and I am praying for the same results for you. One thing confuses me, I asked how my sinuses looked on the scan and the NP from my oncs office said it was only a scan of the brain ... is there another sort of head scan that shows the sinuses? Best to all, MaryAnn

MaryAnn, that's wonderful news! Thanks for sharing.

My dentist once took an X-ray of my sinuses, because he though the pain in my tooth could really be a sinus infection irritating the root. He was half right. I'd had the tooth filled with something I was allergic to, causing inflammation around the root, which in turn caused the sinusses to become irritated. Took us a while to figure it out. By that time the tooth couldn't be rescued so I had to have it pulled. It solved the sinus problem.

The worst part is, that this wonderful dentist sent me for allergy tests before filling the tooth, but the allergist forgot to mention one of the ingredients in her report. So we both thought the filling he used was safe. Grrr.

I could sue the allergist, but here in the Netherlands it's very hard to get compensated. The allergist would probably just get a slap on the wrist, that's all. My health insurance covers most of the dental work, so I can't be bothered. I don't want to waste my energy on fights.

So that's how you get your sinusses imaged. Ofcourse any radiology department could do an x-ray, I guess.

Now let's hope that sinus trouble is all we are dealing with in this thread!!

Love

Jacqueline

Hi Suzane,

Thank you. I am feeling better. I took 10 days of an antibiotic and started using Flonase. The "fogginess" and dizziness is gone. Thank God. Thursday is my 6 month check up BUT it looks like I'm going to have to cancel it because we have 2 bigger snowstorms coming our way. So....thankfully, these symptoms have subsided so I don't have worry about this appointment.

Thanks again for asking.

Mary Jo

Thank you Marie. However, I am not going tomorrow. We are getting ready for ANOTHER winter storm here in WI and traveling over an hour to my oncology clinic isn't something I want to be doing. I have changed the appointment to Feb. 12th now.

But....on a positive note.....my symptoms have subsided since taking the 10 days of antibiotics so I am POSITIVE we are not talking brain mets or ANY mets for that matter. If I were still concerned or thought something was wrong with me - believe me, I would go - but there isn't so waiting till February is fine.

It was nice to be able to post here though while going through my INCREDIBLE WORRY MOMENT and having you guys who "get it" support and pray me through it. I appreciate it more than you know. No, I think you know how I feel as you'd feel no different.

So, thank you Marie for remembering and being the supportive friend that you are.

God Bless you and Ed,

Mary Jo

Hi, Mary Jo- I just want to share that I had similar symptoms to you recently this fall, and I too, thought I probably had brain mets. It had been a year since my last brain MRI, and I was nervous about the next one, which my onc agreed to let me have.

The MRI showed no mets, praise the Lord, and it's funny how the symptoms seem much less and not constantly in my thoughts, after hearing good news.

Back to the symptoms which I think were from sinuses. Mostly aches (never sharp or severe) that came and went in the front of my head...above the eyebrows...mostly one side, and also in the back of my head, one side, same location, off and on. This went on for about 3 months, and thinking back on it, it was after we had real cold weather and a hard freeze, when the symptoms became less noticable (which is what may happen with sinus troubles.)

I then remembered that this has happened before during the fall, starting in early August. So...here's to being thankful for allergies or sinus problems or whatever the reason that at least wasn't cancer related!

And, oh yes, how all of us who post here, "Get it." Again and again, we get it. We all put on the worry hat from time to time...maybe for a short time, and sometimes longer. It's not fun. Then, thankfully, we also have days without so much worry.

Glad to hear you are feeling better. Wishing you and everyone, a peaceful and blessed Christmas.

And, oh, we have had a blizzard in South Dakota for the last 2 weekends. -40 wind chills tonight...hang on, it's headed your way.
