Cool Disability

Can't remember my log-in. I'll work on that later. 5 year cancer survivor. 4th reoccurence with lung nodules and chest lymph nodes. Going through trial study. Work is giving me a hard time regarding my time. Is anyone drawing disability? Just wondered if cancer reoccurence can get you disability.

If you are stage iv you can get disability. I went out on temporary disability and then applied for social security disability almost immediately. You have to wait 5 months for your first payment, but the temp should hold you through. Just be thorough with your paperwork and make sure you give them all they ask for and you will most likely be approved within 3 weeks of applying.

I have been on disability for quite a while. A bit of a battle at first - but do not let them ram you around.

I've been on SSD for the last 2 years. I had no problem getting on it. You should have no problem as long as you have the required work credits. Sign up as soon as possible. It does take 5 months to get a check, and then it may take an extra month to get it.

Cool Thank you for the info

I see a lot of you have also had lung mets. I'm getting really stressed about this. Sometimes I feel like I am short of breath, but in all reality, I think it is anxiety. I don't think the two small mets could make me short of breath. Can't wait to get disability and not have to work. I'm waiting on job to fire me!

I had no problem getting Social Security Disability...I have been on it for 5 years...I believe Stage IV is an automatic qualifier....and after a period you also qualify for medicare.
