alomost 7 years:)

Hi everyone, I'm happily alomost 7 years past dx stage1 her2+++ er/pr+ no hercepton not offered. My next journey has been melanoma 2yrs post op and now a chest xray showed something on my lungs. The dr ordered a cat scan and thinks that it may just be a rib shadow. Does this sound possible or do you think they are trying to keep me calm? I also am having another biopsy of a mole on my face. Thanks for reading this. Leslie

Re: alomost 7 years:)

Leslie, sorry to hear abt your melanoma,it is possible that it won't come back, hopefully you got it in time!!!I hope it is a shadow, pertaining to your rib also.probably the reason that you were not offered Herceptin; Is that it was NOT readily available til some time in 2006,my best friend & I both had Her2 + stage II,since I was diagnosed in 09 ,I rcvd Herceptin....she did not be-
cause she was diagnosed before it came available, but she is 5 yrs. NED,so there is HOPE.....Hang in there Dear!!!

Re: alomost 7 years:)

Hej Les,
Congratulations for 7 years out. That's a great stat. Ask your doc if you can have the cat scan as early as possible, that way you won't worry too long. Yes, anything is possible. So wait with the fretting until you have a real answer. I'm glad your doc is thorough and follows up even if he does expect it to be nothing.
