Question low lymphocytes

Hi all:
I had stage III her2+, was diagnosed Sept 09, treated with taxol and herceptin for 3 months, surgery Jan 2010 (complete response), 3 months A/C chemo, 5 weeks radiation, then balance of year till December 2010 herceptin. All has been well.

My oncologist does not run tumor markers or do any bloodwork on me, relying on my reporting of symptoms. My PCP did my annual physical today, and my bloodwork showed low lymphocytes of 17.4 (normal range is 20.0-53.0) and 0.91 (normal range is 1.2-4.0). I read around and am worrying about leukemia and Hodgkins lymphoma. My father died of leukemia, and my grandmother had Hodgkins.

My overall white blood count is good -- 5.2 (normal range 4.0-11.0. My PCP doesn't seem concerned.

I also read chemo can cause low lymphocytes, but I'm wondering if that is only during chemo (when I did have neutropenia) or if it can still be an effect this far out.

Anyone have anything like this or any feedback?

Thanks guys!

Here's a link from the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Perhaps they have the information that will put your mind at rest.

I wouldn't think that chemo would be affecting you this far out.

I would call the PCP's office and relay your concerns with your family history.
