Feeling terrible

I seriously feel like crap. My throat feels like ai have a serious lump in it. I had areaction to the tax and my dr put me on decadron and benadryl of Friday for three days. I feel terrible still. I'm totally up on nerves and want to stop the treatment, just hate the ieea of missing out on herceptin. I hate this feeling. I'm just so whimsy. Any suggestions? I apparently have had the red face and arms before according to my mom but it got really intense on Friday when the dr saw it so I can imagine the faction will only get worse and I'm worried about a delayed reaction that may be really serious. Need help guiiedence...anything. I go I todqy for my neupogon shot and want to go I with some knowledge. Thanks

Wink Re: Feeling terrible

It sounds like you are having some kind of side effect or allergic reaction from the medicine. Ask your doctor or the doctor's nurse for help. Doctors have all kinds of things to help people with side effects besides benedryl etc. It is their responsibility to help us be as comfortable as possible during cancer treatment.
If the doctor can't help you it might be possible to call the drug company that makes your medicine and talk to a pharmacist. I have done that a few times. They were very helpful.
Hang in there. Don't give up. Keep putting one foot in front of the other and keep going.

Re: Feeling terrible

MaryAn,

When is your next scheduled TCH? Try not to have a panic attack at the moment - take a few deep breaths, breathe in and breathe out...

Things can get cleared up before your next infustion. Or your doctor may decide not to continue. The number of Herceptin treatment has been in dispute (discussion) for quite a while. There was a FinHer study done in Finland a couple of years ago that had concluded the treatment of 9 weeks worth of Hercetin is about as effective as the one year.

Try your best to get this side effect under control, so you will be feeling better. Exercise regularly and eat well. So when the opportunity presnets itself, you will be ready for it.

Sending good vibes your way...
