Hopeful,
Thank you for this article, I am eager for treatment to finally move in the direction of subtype and not size of tumor.

"However, when examined as single factors, neither nodal status nor tumor size predict survival"

So true, but I have to wonder when will the onc. who are treating
bc patients will begin to believe that subtype, HER2 status, must
be taken into strong consideration. The sea is still divided with much
debate.

Kind Regards,
jean

Jean,

I think part of the problem has been that medicine lacked the tools to examine the effect of tx on molecular subtypes, and that subset analysis in clinical trials for these molecular profiles has not been the norm. As more information is gathered, and trials are designed around molecular phenotype, the tide will change.

As a fellow "triple positive" - my thoughts exactly! I had a mastectomy and was told I wouldn't need radiation - hope the studies down the road show that to still be true!
