Is goji a grapefruit ?

My mother has been taking goji juice for quite some time. She is to start Tykerb and it says that she should not be having any fruit or fruit juices (with special emphasis on grapefruit or grapefruit related juices). If anyone can advise me on whether she should continue taking goji or whether it is a grapefruit extract I would be much obliged.

Small dried red things with little seeds that are quite "moreish", and not too sweet.

I looked it up as I did not know exactly what they were either.

I was told no grapefruit and than someone said pineapple has the same thing in it. It contains an enzyme that interacts with the Tykerb. hugs, Sandy

When I was contacted by TykerbCares for the followup by phone, the rep said no grapefruit or products containing grapefruit. I asked if other citrus fruits were ok and she said yes, just no grapefruit...so then I realized the one Fresca I drink each day has grapefruit concentrate in it, so no more of that!
I'll ask my chemo nurses tomorrow if they know whether pineapple and any other fruits are a problem.

I also was told by the onc not to drink grapfreuiit juice as it interacts with the chemo, have you tried the new drink at jamba juice it's called pomegranate ....something? it's delicious and it's mixed with berries. I also add a boost of immunity+energy. It works for me!
