Difference between oncology and voodoo?

I have just been through the 4 monthly scanxiety, but am happy to report that I am still stable, with even a tiny amount of further shrinkage on those nasty liver mets. (Described last time as almost immeasurable and probably inactive - we in Oz don't seem to talk much about NED!)
So I continue with Herceptin/ Tamoxifen and Denosumab, and while of course there are side effects, I have been feeling very well. After a great summer, I travelled to Morocco during April and am already planning the next (short) trip. I am even beginning to get used to my curly locks; at least it hasn't grown back grey!
I asked my doctor the above question yesterday and he replied that it takes longer to become an oncologist!??!! An insult to witch doctors?
More seriously, we spoke of the obvious research trends towards tumour profiling and the individualisation of treatment - but still such a long way to go.
In the meantime, let's make hay!
Best wishes to all...... Pam
