Welcome Shawna -
You are now part of an elite sisterhood!
Where do you live? Near a major city?
I did not have Herceptin before mets, but am Living Long and Living Well with this drug for over two years since getting off last chemo.
There are many trials out there, you can check the M.D. Anderson (in Houston) web site and find that they have decided to give Herceptin to early stage patients with her2neu pos disease. There are also lots of trials around the country which include use of Herceptin. Maybe check the Genentech (maker of this drug) web site.
You may be able to find a way to argue your case with your med onc and get Herceptin now.
