Well, she is out of her coma and when I walked into the room her head turned to me. We stared into one another's eyes and although I try not to assume anything, I could almost read her mind. I saw the last 16 years of love and memories in her desperate little eyes. I felt how happy she was to be alive, I felt all of her love for me, I felt even closer to her than ever! She continued to stare at me as her eyes filled up. Her eyes were more powerful than any words she could ever speak.

Ed was besides himself with happiness and my heart was so excited for him, for us. He has really been a wonderful help through this all and especially so since he is rather sick himself. When he told her not to worry about the cat because we are taking special care of him, she got all emotional. She answered all my yes and no questions.

This is the news we needed to keep us moving forward. Thank you all for walking besides us through this misfortune.

Oh and the best part...I told her I would work my magic to try to get her homecare vs. rehab. I said that she would need and would have to accept help in the future to make that happen. She closed those lovely eyes in submission. Normally she would have refused. We know now that she will make it through the rest.

Thanks again.>>Believe51

Marie,

I am so glad to read the good news about your Mother-in-law. My Mother-in-law had had home health care visits before she went to the nursing home to recuperate after a brief hospitalization for congested heart failure.

My Father-in-law went to the rehab. room inside of the nursing home and said the program there was a 'joke'; so he started helping my Mother-in-law with stretching and other body movements. He used to be a coach, so he knows quite a bit about those exercises.

I had 10-day semi-comatose after my first brain surgery. I had to go through physical therapy, speech therapy, and occupational therapy. My experience has taught me that the more I exercise, the 'smarter' I become. For many, many years, I've continued to feel that way.

We'll be praying for your whole family.

Then you are going to love this, Shobha.....

My Sweet Love is not only awake but off the vent. I came to her room last night and she had an oxygen mask on. I brought yellow tulips and a purple frame with a picture of her cat in it. I gave her the flowers and said I needed to brighten up her room. Then I said that I knew she would love them, but would love this more. When I put the framed picture up close to her face she smiled hard.

Mom answered all our yes and no questions without hesitation, without confusion. Although she was a bit medicated and tired from breathing on her own, she was repeating something over and over. I figured it out. She was saying "I love you, I love you, I love you!" She is so happy to be alive and of course so are we.

She still needs those continued prayers because she has a very long way to go. The important thing is she is awake and off the vent, the rest will come in time.

I have to thank all of you again for the prayers, especially since she has prayed for all of us here by name. Hey, what goes around comes around, right? How blessed I am to have you all as part of my family!!>>Believe51
